during the two 'take a step backs" Mr Garcia notes out one of my all time favorite dead tunes, "English Country Garden".during the first 'step back' he
...
sort of alludes to,and plays around the melodic theme in medium slow tempo. However, in the second 'step back' he pulls out all the stops, and full on rips it in an absolute frenzy of birds ,gardens, flowers, insects and nature ! wish i was there ! ---okay,i just read the other reviews talking about the Cornell school song in the first 'step back' so i may be wrong there

By the time this show came along I was definitely on the bus. In May of 1980 I was at Ithaca College across the hill from Cornell. However, I was living
...
closer to the Cornell campus. Was the only show that I walked to and home from.
What a great show. Loved the way they mixed things up in the 2nd set. Everything was played great from start to end. Others mentioned the playing in the barn line or Garcia playing Cornell’s song. It was just indicative of the great time they/we were having. So glad to be part of this event (and many other). They fed off us and we in turn fed off the band.
Enjoy listening. It is worth the time spent.

First show - as a 20 year old college sophomore. 10 years later to the day my daughter was born. Solid 15 year journey until that dark August day in

1995.
Saw Furthur at Barton on Valentine's day this year with my buddy Gary from college. Took my now 20 year old daughter to see them at Coney Island. Life's full circle.

Drove to this show with four other friends from Buffalo on chance we could score some tickets outside. Almost didn't happen. Show ended up being almost
...
sold-out and we had to go almost until the show starting before we all were able to score some tickets outside and get inside the barn. We literally hopped and skipped into the entrance on such a high. The show was hot with a real intimate feel in that small space. Boys always seemed to be ON in Cornell. Wonderful Shakedown/Bertha combo with Phil dropping some tasty bass bombs-also a very hot Playin.(in the barn!) In fact, the entire second set was a real scorcher and had the audience going completely nuts . AUD tape sounds excellent-like I'm there- bein a dancin fool - once again.

As a high school senior. my friends and I went to the Ivy League! Little did we know that we would be playing in the barn before the night was out!! This

show solidified my belief in becoming a Dead Head!! It was nice to be part of something! The show was stellar and should be accorded the due that it deserves, I think once listened to the show will be worthy of a keeper.

Incredible vocals by Bob Jerry and Brent. I love this show more than Cornell 77...maybe 'cause I was at this one...but 77 there is too much effects on
...
vocals...too much reverb. Last indoor general admission concert I attended. Nice Terrapin and Shakedown.

Yes we miss the SBDs; yes the AUDs don't have that high-fi sound we think we want. But it wasn't just the music. It was never just the music. Just listening
...
to Jack Straw and realizing how much fun EVERYONE is having. Only an AUD will do that for us. Five stars for six stars worth of happiness.

Must be something in the drinking water at this venue. The band is smoking throughout the show and this wonderful audience recording captures it well.
...
There's a nice, warm audience ambience on this recording that makes you feel as if you are right there in the dim lights, thick(pot) smoke.Excellent versions of Shakedown(Phil fans will love this version) and Playing are just a few highlights. Highly recommended. Boy, do I miss these early brent-era shows.

This is one of the most amazing places to see a show. They call it the "Barn" for a reason. It has stone walls that hold the energy & echo shows gone
...
past. This was my second show & it was very dreamy to me at the time, all new sensations & experiences of being in that space of Love. From the opening notes of Jack Straw I was taken away on a journey that has never stopped. The Shakedown 2nd set opener just smoked & melted into a rockin Bertha. Terrapin a nice surprise was my first. It was a inspiration to go to the next night in Glens Falls. A rare St. of Circumstance without Lost Sailor out of space into a very touching Black Peter. Playin' In The Barn had us all laughing & smiling like little children. The sound from this show is pretty good for an audience. A very spacious sounding recording. I wonder if there are any SB copies out there?
